97 GRand PRIX GTP locks works but not on remote and bcm wont program

have a 97 GTP now the locks works if you use them in the car but the remote wont work so tried reprogramming the remote by populling the mall pgm fuse and turning the key to acc then to off and bacjk to acc then opening andd closin the drivers door, its now that im suppose to get a chime but i dont and cant continue with the programming,, so im stumped as to why the horn and trunk buttons work on remote but not the unlock and lock and i cant reprogramm the remote, anyone got any ideas pleas Thank you ASH
 


I had this problem also, so I ditched the factory crap and installed a remote start system that included Lock/unlock and trunk. Got it from autozone for $99.

Ok here's a solution for you.

I had same problem.
There's a receiver under the dash behind the dic.

Pull it out replace it with a different one (junk yard pick n pull cost 7$)

Or buy from someone here for 30 with key.

And it's gonna work perfectly.

After that there's a thread I made about how to get a really good range.
Look at my post you will find it.

ok so under the dash behind the dic drivers instrument cluster? is that what your refering to raver...thanks for the info
 
No. It's behind the display center (the thing that shows if ur door open,trac off etc.

No screws needed. Just pull it. Find my post" how to get 200ft range"

On a side note, you are turning the key backwards towards yourself correct?

I just programmed 2 new key fobs yesterday, and felt like an idiot because I turned the key forward the first two times.
