97 Grand Prix Engine Randomly Cutting Out

I have a 97 Grand Prix GTP with 197,000 miles. For the past few days, the engine has been randomly and erratically cutting out under power and occasionally at idle. I am not losing electrical power, as the lights and all accessories remain on uninterrupted. The engine will just randomly cut out, the RPM will drop, and then it will kick back in. I may have had this problem once before (I have done a lot of work on this car over the years) and the crank shift position sensor sticks in mind (I may have done this about 3 years ago). Any ideas?

Crank Position Sensor is the first thing that comes to my mind. But it also kinda sounds like maybe the ignition control module.

Is the ignition control module the device that is in the column just behind the steering wheel? If so, I replaced that about 6 months ago.

Update: so the SES light came on (it does from time to time, usually with a mass air flow code because I have a K and N filter and it gunks up the sensor I guess sometimes). Well it was a mass air flow code again. So i just decided to clean the sensor for the heck of it. This seems to have done the trick so far. Car has not acted up since. We will see if this continues.
