97 camaro l32 swap. need help with sensors/tuneing

well guys i put a 06 gtp engine into my camaro, im using a 97 gtp tb. i know my pcm is the same as a 97 gtp and we share many sensors. only difference i see is the map, oxygen and oil pressure sensor (camaro has a gauge not a light.) should i install the 97 gtp oxygen sensors and map sensors? also is there any good tuner i can send my pcm out too? i haven't seen any gtp shops here in south Florida. thanks for the help i really need it.

HPtuners is probably your best bet
Off topicish...i saw a subie earlier that had this cool elbow thing on the supercharger...looked like it would clear on the camaro just fine....ideas are stirring for me again lol

man if ur a beginner this isn't something u want to do, i hope to have it running by the end of the month. ive done a **** load of fbodys from 1st to 4th gens man everything so i know the tricks around these buckets lol, and man i wish i could do the tuning on my own i tried it once with the lt1 and there are just to many variables.

i wouldnt say im a beginner but im certainly not an expert....ive looked at many different builds and have researched FI in general pretty much since i got the car almost 2 years ago.

go check out fullthrottlev6.com inferno got part way through a build and then called it quits...might have something about tuning in there.

You will need a use a 97-98 maf sensor and TB for the 97 PCM. The 02's should be the same between the two. You will also need a GTP map sensor(2 bar map) and run a vacuum line from under the blower snout on the lim to it.

your best bet is to get HPT and go from there

i wouldn't use the gtp computer. if the car was a factory v6 all you're doing is adding boost to the engine. so a custom tune would be the best bet. the 3800 camaro uses basically the same setup as a N/A gp. treat it like a topswap. the maf sensor is the same, keep the 1 bar map and run the boost bypass valve off vacuum. see if there are any f body shops where you are in florida, if they can tune a 700 hp ls6 the 3800 should be a cake walk.

Agreed Id try to use the Stock maro pcm, and do a GTP maf table and do the map tables for the two bar setup. Or run the stock one bar map off of a vac line like stated that doesnt see boost( like off the TB)

Keep in mind the F-Body uses 2 pre-cat O2 sensors, where the W-Body only uses one. You'll have to get someone with access to the parameter to tell the PCM to use both O2 sensors if you're using a GTP PCM. If not, you're only gonna be adjusting fuel off 1 bank.

im thinking about sending my pcm to pcmforless to let them deal with it. ive tried tuning before but there just to many variables and im not good with math. the 97 camaro and gtp computers are the same part numbers just different tunes on them. im using all the 97 gtp sensors so i hope they can figure it out for me.

you're going to need a custom tune regardless so i wouldnt leave it up to some company unless they're going to dyno tune your car.

cant find any local shops that would help me out. as far as parts the car should be done by Tuesday. i cant find any local gtp owners here in miami fl to help me. i been to the tracks and hangouts, no gtps anywhere here just ****ing hondas lol.

The sensors on the TB should all be the same. Only difference is the actual maf table. Stock l36 tb flows .021 Grams a sec, stock GTP flows .024 grams a sec. The Hz ramp rates for fueling are quite different.

i forgot to mention, the fuel rails and injectors im using are also from a 97 gtp, im running a 97 Z2 fuel pump.
