96 pontiac Grand Prix se 3.1

I have a 96 Grand Prix 3.1 coupe the starter is getting power but when I turn the key nothing happens. I already took the starter out a hooked it to the the battery it works fine. Do you guys have any suggestions

check battery cables to the starter and ground.

Are you getting power to the rest of the car (lights, radio, etc)? Have you tested the voltage to see how much power it is putting out? Also, as Five said, make sure the battery cables are secured tightly at the terminals, and that the ground is clean/making contact.
