GM did a lot of changes internally to the 4T60 over the span of it's life. My suggestion would be to use the newest possible and check the gear ratio.

If you use a different year, make sure you swap the electrical harness inside the trans with the one on your car. they changed pinouts etc and that one thing should make it work fine.
