96 GTP inside of grill

When I look through the front grill of my car, it looks/feels like theres a couple big blocks of black styrofoam in there. Is that normal...? Seems like it would restrict airflow to the radiator or something. This could be a really stupid question, but in any regards, I'd like to know what its for

Those are for car crash reasons/bumper supports.

Helps soften the blow of the impact.

If the car is not running hot, dont worry about it.

Ah. Seemed like an odd place to put them right behind the grill. Its like only 1/5th of each side has a square hole opened for air intake. Engine doesn't run hot at least.
