96 grand prix 3.1 wont start cold

i am new to the forums, i just bought a 96 grand prix 3.1. i ran some sea foam through it this weekend, and am having some starting issues. if i try starting it after sitting for a few hours, it wont start on the first try. it will crank and crank with no fire. but if i turn it off and try again, it starts up. any ideas what this could be?

fuel pump. sounds like it is priming up better when u shut it off and try to start it after cranking.

mikedinthecity is right! The fuel pressure is built up after the engine has been running, thus it fires right away. Once it cools, or on a cold start, the pressure is too low for the engine to start. Your pump is dying...
