Service engine light came on. Scanned it, and got a code for a slipping transmission. Forgot to write down code #. I did notice a while ago, there was something weird going on with it. Only noticed it after a little longer drive, like over 20 miles. It would "shudder", so to speak. If you hit the gas or leave off, then get back on, it usually would go away for a while. But it never threw a code till now. Any ideas? Is there something I can pour in it to "mask" this? Car has 150,000 miles and in good shape. So I would like to keep it.

rebuild is in your future for sure.

a quart of lucas trans medix may help with the slipping, but baby it till your ready to either swap the tranny with a used one, or have it rebuilt.
