96 gp manual trans swap

Hey there. New to the forums and working on my gp as well. Just a question today. I'm wondering if there is a manual trans that I could fabricate in place of the automatic. I'm not sure if it can be done or not, but if so, does anyone know of a compatible one? Don't get me wrong, I like my auto, but I would like to feel like I have a little more control over my gp. Also I'm aware of the customization for everything, just looking for that tranny to drop in her. Car is completely stock atm. 96 with a 3.1 and a 4t60e trans as I'm told. And please be easy on insults, I'm a computer geek, not a gear head, but working on it. Much appreciated. :)
 


lol yeah theres actually a drop in manual tranny called a getrag 284. its a rarity however. im looking for one for my 95 :)
 
Awesome dude. You're a huge help. I've been looking everywhere and started to get discouraged thinking it was almost impossible to have a stick with my motor. I really don't wanna swap engines. The one I have is running strong. Due for a rebuild tho. Just hit 215k and it has no unusual noises, nor does it leak a thing. And just keeping the original block would make me happy. Thanks a bunch again, man. Much appreciated.
