94 Grand Prix won't shift right

Sup guys just joined and this is my first post.

I have a 1994 grand prix that will not shift correctly. I had sent in because the starter eventually went out, but when I got it back from the company that put the new starter in it slipped a gear or something, my rpms would rev up to about 5000 and my speedometer would go nuts. If i put the car in park and turn it off and back on it resets itself and the car will run fine, until i get to that certain gear which is usually when i hit about 55-60. After i figured out this problem i had it sent back in and put on a computer so they could tell me whats wrong with it and they told me I had a bad computer. So i went out and bought a new computer and it didn't fix the problem.:th_yawning:
WHAT else would cause it to do that, i would like to think that it is not my transmission because it ran perfect before i had it sent in for the new starter, any ideas please post.:th_thumbsup-wink:

FYI, deleted your other thread. you only need one.

sounds like an electrical issue. there are a couple of big grounds that get connected with the starter, check and see if those are loose.
