I have a 94 Grand Prix SE 3.1 with 195,000 miles. The check engine light comes on indicating #3 EGR valve problem. I am getting a shudder under load. Just wondering if this is an oxygen sensor problem or otherwise? The EGR has been an ongoing issue, but has never caused shudder before. It has never caused a problem with the way it runs, just the service engine light. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
 


Well, I would say the “shuddering” isn’t an EGR problem nor an O2 sensor problem. But if you could be more vague on your problem, maybe that would help us.:th_jester:

That aside, an EGR is your friend. You should really try to clean it out, it’s the least you could do. Even if you had to replace it, you would get your money back in better mpg.

Are you sure the CEL is only on for the EGR?
