I recently purchased a 92 GP Se with a 3.1 v6. All of the autopart websites list the Se as only available with a 3 speed auto in 92, but mine had a 4 speed when I purchased it. I believe it was a transplant as the speedometer reads 67 mph when your doing 55mph on propper tires.
My question is specifically about the MEMCAL. If the car came with a 3 speed and someone put in a 4 speed will the MEMCAL be able to run it ok, or will there be potential problems? I ask because it seems to be having some problems running smoothly, particularly around the shiftdown point (cruising at ~2000 rpm and then accelerating slowly sometimes causes it to act as if someone is briefly turning the key on-and-off).
The vehichle is VIN "T" so it came with the 3.1.
