91 Pontiac Grand Prix idiot lights on

Ok,
I have a 91 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 door, 3.1L, automatic with power windows.
When I purchased the car it needed a motor so I got a junk yard one and put it in.

The Hi temp, low oil, low fuel and other idiot lights are on most of the time.
The gauges read correct and show the amount of fuel, temp etc.
I have heard rumors of a computer module under the passenger seat that can cause this but that module is there for ABS or Airbags and I have neither.

The previous owner told me he had new sensors if I needed them.
Which leads me to believe he also had the same problem with the old engine.

so the questions are;

1. do I have to remove the seat to tell if I have that module?
2. if it turns out I have the module and its bad does anybody have a good one to sell?
3. Could it be the main computer?
4. What else could cause this?

thanks JC
