91 Grand Prix 3.1L hard upshifts / downshifts

Hi all,
Replaced my 91 GP engine with a salvage yard one.
When I did that I replaced the front mount as well.

Whenever the tranny shifts either up or down it is rock hard like I am doing it at the wrong RPM.

Any suggestions?

It feels hard even at slow accelerations.

P.S. it always bangs into gear going up or down... never a smooth shift...
