4T65E 1999 GrandPrix SE Slipping in 1st

I have a 1999 Grand Prix SE with 106,000 miles on it that is slipping badly in first gear. If I put the selecter in 1st gear it is not as bad. 2nd, 3rd, and overdrive don't slip. Is there a modulator or some other replaceable part that might help with this problem? Trans fluid was recently replaced, fluid levels are good. Any Suggestions as a transmission rebuild costs more than the car is valued...

Thank you for any help you can offer...

First off, check your fluid level. Yes, I know you said you just did it. But check it again. Make sure the car is running, warmed up, in park, and on a level surface. Check it a couple times.

But I would think that you are due for a rebuild.
