42.5# injectors close to static already?

im currently running a 2.9" pulley with 20-21* of timing and i have noticed a few times glancing over at my LS1M the IPWs were spiking and hitting 20mS at full throttle with a few blips of less than 1-2* of KR. im not I/C but currently using meth/water injection. max boost is i believe ~13psi. i was told at 6000RPMs 42.5lb would be static in the 21mS range. am i already in need of upgrading to 60lb or just need either retune and/or I/C?

i did not get a recent log nor scanned for the IDC % but i will starting today

you have your wideband hooked up? how is that looking? are you running rich?

that's the only reason i can see why youre maxing out 42.5# injectors.

AFR's locked in at 11.2-11.5 when entering PE then once the water-injection hits, which is around 5-6psi the PLX SMR-AFR shoots to 10.3-10.0(rich)

have you tuned the car minus the alky yet? where do you sit then?

unless your fuel filter is clogged or you need a pump upgrade, i dont see why youd max them on a 2.9.

filter's a year old and im using PRJ's racetronic fuel pump w/ZZP's 1gen fuel pump rewire. im gonna try dialing in a 11.3-11.5 w/o the alky-meth and start at stock timing and go from there this weekend hopefully.

You're basically having to drown out the heat to subdue KR. When you still see KR with actual A/F having to go below 11.5, you're trying to run too much pulley. (I know this because I used to do it myself, along with many others who do or don't know it.)

If you can't run a reasonable A/F and spark when you're done with your next tuning stage that you mentioned, I'd back off the pulley & start back at a point where you see 0* with good A/F and spark 1st.

the alky is what brings his AFR down so low. if he was seriously running 10:1 AFR without the alky he'd be dumb, which i know he's not.

tune it without the alky to see where it gets you. can you possibly lean it out on the top end since the alky takes up some of the combustion?

yep, the water in the washer fluid is keeping the fuel from burning completely. But even I've never seen my IPW's go over 16 on my 2.8 setup.
