40th Anniversary Coupe

Hello, I just purchased a 2002 40th anniversary coupe. The car is spotless, interior is perfect. Car only has 66,000 miles. 1 owner garage kept.

From what I understand this is a rare car. Its non-supercharged and apparently there were only 967 made?

I don't know if I want to keep it or sell it. What would be a proper asking price for this car?

Only someone actually looking for one with low miles would be willing to pay a premium.

To everyone else it's just a GM car with lower miles for a year. It's hard to say what the asking price should be when someone like me might only pay $4-5k for a mint condition grand prix. It would have to be worth that to an insurance company, otherwise I'd lose out if it got wrecked right away and only got 3k back. That's just how I tend to look at things.


Though it may be "rare" because not many 40th anniversary cars were made, it's only a package that is has. The special color, roof rails, hood vents, interior color and badging, otherwise it's exactly like the rest top to bottom with engine and suspension.
 
I'd say $2.5-3K. And that's if the underside and rear strut towers are clean. With that low of mileage it'll likely need the LIM gaskets done, UIM, valve covers, new hoses/belt, etc. If you're not a DIY person then shop rates will run into the 1K+ range for all that work.

Unless you find someone that knows these cars and wants that one in particular, as FFDP said they are just a run of the mill GP. If it's really in that good of shape then you may want to look into a stated value insurance policy. I did that with my 74 MG Midget for Hagerty.
