4'' intake on an 04?



so the one big bend killed him? Drunkie I'd like to see pics of your setup and any tips you have. I'll be building my own eventually.

haha I am actually piecing mine together as we speak, its all ordered, just waiting for it all and gonna put it in.

I have done so many intakes in the past on all sorts of cars, but the best combo I have found so far is with that bpi stack and R2c filter...
 
i guess i will be changing my intake to 4" soon then...is it just better for the engine? does it change the tone? will i notice a difference changing from 3" to 4"?
 


it goes at the very end of the Intake setup where the filter would be.

you need a 6" opening filter (I suggest the R2C filter)

An extended flange does NOT justify a 1000% markup.

Edit: Looking at the graphs, the only place there are real gains are at 6000+ RPM, the region which our engines do NOT run.
 


thats what the TB screen is for. our motors dont gain dick from playing around with the intake. just making something that flows well and be done with it.

Let me find the dyno's with the vq guys getting gains right around 3000rpms

The point is they are both plastic flares... one costs nearly $40 and the other nearly $5. Why is there such a big difference in cost? Its called greed and stupidity.

Carb's have the best intakes around, just go take a look at some.
 
3" is fine. What is the point of running something huge when you have the stock MAF dropping back down to 3" anyways?

Before moving on to turbo I ran an intake that was almost exactly the same as what you are running now and it was a nice addition.

the bigger the better on a blower car, honestly. that is why an open cone setup is so beneficial.
