ok so i've had my GP almost 2 years now and this is my 3rd tranny. Obviously i bought the extended warrenty or else i'd be riding a bicycle to work!! but i was wondering why i keep burning trannys?? The only thing i can guess causing this is sometimes at a slow roll i'll shift to N and rev it alil and wait for RPMS to drop then shift back to D (slow roll). I'm ease with it when i did do it...here is a pic of my 3rd re-build tranny straight from michigan...of course i'm not going to do this anymore...

This should be moved to the 4T65E section

If you are getting GM remans they are garbage and will keep failing. Why are you shifting to neutral? Im not sure I understand the point of why you mentioned but regardless that shouldnt be doing any harm as long as you are NOT revving the engine and then while rpms are up popping it back into drive, then you will be putting a shock on everything in the trans.

sorry guess i posted in wrong one. not sure how to move this thread but ok...and yes i couldnt agree more, these rebuilt trannys suck. this one was just put in and i can already tell stiffness in the shifts and sometimes hesitation! dont have enough dough to get a better one ATM.

The mods will see it and move it so dont worry about reposting. Its too bad that the GM remans just dont work out in these cars because there are a lot of people that get them through warranties and have nothing but problems and then normally anything but the transmission is to blame and then the time comes when the service manager will tell you that they wont replace it again warranty or not

thnx trannyman, guess ill wait to see how much worse it gets until i can go back to the dealership and cry some-more. my dad once told me that with GM's once u get a tranny problem, you'll keep a problem.

my best bet, save and get one brand new?

i'm going to eventually do the same and the only things i hear from others who use trannyman's trannies are only great things:th_thumbsup-double:

well man i've had this GP since it was brand new, sad thing is, i've just now decieded to MOD it, and i only have about 3months til i go to desert training and am shipping overseas, so man i'm really gonna be sad not even being able to see my car. yet alone drive it. Maybe when i get back ill use my money to pay him a visit and have him put some mods on for me since i dont have the tools nor experience.
