• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

3800 SC, broke my pintle caps - pieces in 2 front cylinders

SaukRapids

I can't car too good.
I searched. Google said a lot of people have had this problem. Go to put the rail back on, the old pintle caps are brittle from fuel, they bust, pieces fall in during extraction.

I got a couple big pieces out I could see with vaseline on a long pick. There's still a few fragments in the front cylinders nearest the ICM bracket.

Solutions without head removal range from inspection camera to just run it. One thing I read was to remove the spark plug and blow air into the injector hole, forcing the pieces out. Using compressed air sounds like it makes sense. My other thought is that it should just blow out once it fires, but I'd like opinions first.

Let me know. Thanks!

fire it up and go about your day, it will more than likely be ejected before the spark plugs ignite the mixture.
