I have recently Just Bought a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 Series 3 its a base model Id like to throw a super charger in it and swap out the standard exhaust for a MagnaFlow Exhaust Cat-Back System and throw a SLP Cold Air Intake and add a HKS performance Chip for a little extra power to start with I have got my parts priced out but im wondering with it being a 3800 base model if im going to run into any problems if so please let me know and if there's a better way to go about starting off for more power id appreciate the info.

here are the links to the parts for issue related answers.

Defiantly don't buy that performance chip garbage, it's a scam and can damage your car.

I agree with Matt, get the z3 turbo kit from Zzperformance.

sweet Ty for the info these steps will rely help me get my non supercharged 3800 up to speed. but is it posible after these steps to put a super charger in or is it best to go top Swap in your opinion ?

Youre funny.

Only thing on ebay thats works is the speed daddy headers.

Everything else is just a stupid/ignorance tax.

z3 kit would be nice but then im changing out a lot of parts and with 3 kids in school money can be a lil tight at times

You can't just PUT a supercharger on the top of your block and expect it to work. There are a lot of things you have to switch out. Read the top swap thread. That's what you're looking for. Read both threads actually. They compliment one another.

top swaps not free, you need full gaskets, heads, lim, blower, belt accessories, a new crank balanacer. a tuned pcm, injectors fuel rails, all together it can cost as much as 6 to 800, if you do all the work that is.

not so simple. read the threads posted, they will explain everything for you.

hell print it out and read on the crapper lol

ok ty very much i got my parts list now. ill definitively start with this im going to get all my parts together then take it to the shop and have em do it up for me I am driver with some knowledge of my car but not enough to do a Top Swap. is there a Super Charger you recommend using ? and when they say SC im assuming they mean SC Motor sports ?

sc means supercharger. you need a gen 3 or gen 5 with a matching lower intake manifold. 04 and up have the gen 5. 97-03 have the gen 3.

READ! You have the links. All the knowledge of the car you now own is on this forum.

Throw most of your idea's out the window, your 2008 Grand Prix Base cannot be tuned.

Chips are a joke.

So basically you cant top swap your car or do anything major.

Only small stuff like a hv3, intake, those type of things. And if your going to change the exhaust just buy mufflers and have them welded up, save yourself the cash. Oh and yeah 3800's exhaust LOVE to drone with aftermarket mufflers, might not be kid friendly.

if my 3800 can not be tuned or top swap'd then why is there a giant forum with a parts list and how to do it. I just got back from the Shop with my list and my guys are telling me it's the best way to go safely
