Latest notice from my local dealership... this might have been covered already, but regardless, I will share the highlights:
GM Safety recall 14574
Why: "Drops of engine oil may be deposited on the exhaust manifold through hard braking. This condition could cause an engine compartment fire."
What will we do: ""...your Chevrolet dealer will replace your engine's front valve cover and front-valve-cover gasket with new parts of an improved design. Your engine's plastic "beauty" cover and plastic oil-fill-tube extension will be removed."
So there is a redesigned/new valve cover design? I didn't know about this. I recall the gaskets being replaced on the S/C variety, but not the whole valve cover.
Also interesting they are removing the engine cover and oil fill tube extension... those have already been removed on my vehicles just because I don't care for them, but interesting nonetheless.
