When I was doing my big build I obviously had the engine and trans out of the car. I looked into a old wives tale I came across on the Internet of the 3800's being VIN tagged. Many people wouldn't/couldn't believe it..

Here are the facts

This is located above the starter, but below the deck surface, and blocked by the manifolds



This is located on the back of the Trans to the Left of the Trans Mount.




And this is of course my VIN plate

You'll also find the VIN on most if not all body panels, the main body and other major components. Not just GP's. All vehicles. Motorbikes all the way up to big trucks and even trailers.
