3 codes, connected?

so my SEL light came on today. stopped and had them pulled..

current code is PO440

history shows
P1115
P1811

now i need to dig a little further into the 440, as i dont smell gas and the cap in newish

but as far as the 1811, i only get hard shifts at WOT 1st to 2nd shift..

could there be any correlation in these 3?

P1115 is the coolant temp sensor showing intermittent high voltage. Check the wiring going to it, and if all else just replace it. It's located under the thermostat neck on the LIM, kinda at an angle.

The P1811 is Max Adpat Shift. Likely the PCS solenoid in the trans is going bad. A pan drop, install of Trans-go shift kit from TEP and a bottle of Lucas Stop-Slip, new filter and refill the rest with new fluid should take care of that issue.

I would clear and see what comes back. That's the first step in any good diagnosis. Since 440 is current, likely it's the only issue.

will do. seems the transgo is simple and cheap. might do it anyway. i need to replace my oil pan gasket regardless

as far as the coolant temp, i ran a bottle of stop leak for a small radiator leak i had. did this about a month ago. now my low coolant light is intermittent, even when full. no longer leaks anymore but still goes through the water at times. idk

Wait, so you are loosing coolant but it's not from any external leak that you can see? Since I don't know what year of car you drive (help us out here) I would think that the LIM gaskets need to be done, or possibly check the coolant elbows and waterpump for leaks. Often they will seep and the coolant will dry up before hitting the ground. And the LIM gaskets are known issues on the 3800's all the way into mid-05. Also, the UIM is known to crack on the N/A 3800's as well which will feed the motor coolant internally. Pull the dipstick and see if the oil is clear or if it looks like a milkshake.

will do... yea it doesn't "eat" much coolant anymore. i haven't added in 2 weeks or so.

btw its a 2000 GT, only mod is intake.

i pulled battery and let it reset. this was friday night and no codes have been output since then. so idk..
i will check the elbows and oil tonight. everything has been put on the side to get my new bike running ..lol
