This week for my car has been a big problem, first I need to change a motor mount, next the engine started to run rough and now the high pressure power steering hose is leaking.
So todays question is is there an easy way to change the high pressure power steering hose on the 3.4 dohc engine.

I just did mine in my vert. Take an hack.saw blade and cut the line off at the fitting by the rack, then put an 18mm socket on it with some extentions, bust it.loose and then u can get your hand.on it amd un do it..run the new line and thread it in by hand, then take an 18mm shirty wrench to.snug up. You get alot more room if yiu take yiu upper intake.off..since yiur having.missfire issues I would take it off and have access to your plugs, wires, upper and lower intake gaskets, and power steering line..makes everything alot easier and you will have all new gaskets to rule out a vacuum. I had my upper off in 25mins..just.saying.

18 mm line wrench makes the nut come off all nice and easy. same for the pump side line bolt iirc thats a 14 or 15 mm.

car on jack stands, you can get the rack side line nut from under the car, the pump its best to take the pass side wheel off then work from the wheel well to unbolt the line, have a small pail handy or drain pan to catch all the fluid as its gonna leak out fast when the line comes off.

Scotty hes got a 3.4 dohc..its a different beast..pumps.on top of motor and the lines come.in different on a 3.8

How do I get to the fittings, exhaust removal, lower sub frame..........

you cant get to the lines on the rack from under the car? i got mine off with out dropping the sub frame. i got huge hands too.

if you feel you have to lower the frame, put the car on jack stands, then put a jack under the middle of the rear sub frame and jack it up so its now holding the frame up, then take the 2 rear bolts out and lower the frame no more then 3 inches or your'll rip the shaft off the rack from the column.

I have big hands also and was under the car and couldn't get to it. I am going to try again tody. I just got the hose from advance auto.

you can also reach it from the back side of the engine. its like under the master cylinder. intake aka air box and tube to TB would have to come off too.

a few of the how too's ive read say to remove the master and intake tube and box and take them lines off from the top.

i found it more then easy to reach from under the driver side.
