3.29 to 2.93 Tuning

Hey wanting to switch to the more highway friendly gears I have the sprockets to do it just need to know what to change in the tune...I have read the how to when going from 2.93 to 3.29...my calculated gear currently shows 3.29 so do I change this to 2.93 after switching to he 2.93 sprockets?

You have to change the pulses per mile and also will need to change the shift points. Just find a bin from a GTP as they have the 2.93's and swap their Trans settings

the method for this is different between dhp and hpt... DHP cant really do it effectively without tinytuner for most OSIDs.

In HPT there is a value that is your gear ratio...just change it and upload the file to your car.

Also, why are you going through all of this work for a better highway gear? The money and time spent swapping the gears/chains will not be offset by your slightly improved MPG for awhile.

Using the wizard in HPT requires some twiddling around.. You cant just put in the right number. Cruise the HPT forums for specifics but I know you need to put in 3.69 when switching to a 3.29 or something, so I assume its similar when downgrading.

I got the 2.93 gears for free so will be just my time...I have a cam to install so motor and trans will eventually be coming out anyways...not for sure doing it but since I have the stuff for it was wondering what tuning I will have to do

Ok I will take a look over on HPT
