hi all. I don't know if I'm posting this in the correct section but, here goes.

I have a 2000 GP SE 3.1 and have been having some odd problems lately. I recently got a code for the camshaft pos. sensor, and after repeatedly turning it off gave in and replaced it. that solved that problem however, I put some seafoam in the gas tank to clean my injectors, etc. about the same time and almost immediately got trouble code P0172 . I read the code (via Autozone's pos code reader) and it didn' tell me anything helpful. I have since been through two tanks of gas and it is still doing it. the next time it threw the code I went to Checker and used a better code reader. here are the readings:

Fuel system closed loop, P0172, system too rich bank 1, ltft bank 1 -21.0% stftbank 1 -2.3
intake manifold pressure 11.5 in Hg, RPM 1817, 61 mph, Throttle pos 8.2%, Mass air flow 001.89 lb/min it also had a little led flashing "EVA" which I guess would mean something in the evap. system is fouled up

everything else checked out fine including the o2 sensors, and I just barely cleaned the MAF sensor as well, spark plugs are pretty new, air filter is a K&N and is pretty clean as well

the code seems to regenerate only after driving about 80-100 miles
I have been getting a strange intermittent gas smell in the cabin, and the car is idling a bit rough and hesitates on acceleration, and on the freeway at steady speeds. WTF is wrong with this car?? it's driving me crazy
thanks all, Jason

one other thing to note on this car is that in the summer the transmission has a problem with short shifting when it's hot outside but, not always, it's really unpredictable. I have another computer I can install to see if this cures all my ills but, I cannot find the unit to replace it. anyone know where it is on the 2000 GP se 3.1? this transmission has been professionally rebuilt and has been inspected several times and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. also what can be done about the evap canister if it is saturated? can i just replace the pressure regulator?

okay, so I was just driving home, and the MIL lamp turned itself off, and the car is running better now but, I don't know what changed so, I'm sure it will happen again. any thoughts? just trying to get as much info as i can before I start dumping money into a car I hate!

ok, so I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and after a short drive the SES light turned itself off. keeping my fingers crossed!
