2012 Ford Taurus Police Brakes

So, I was at the JY yesterday and spotted a 2012 Taurus Police model, wheels were gone but all the brakes were intact. Pretty big brakes, appears to be 13" both front and rear. Dual piston front, single piston rear. Appear aluminum. Any use to us W-Body guys? Seems that the 13" rear would be a unique upgrade if adapted properly. Not particularly useful, but might be cool if you want 13" all around.

youd make yourself happier with an adjustable proportioning valve and your current brakes.

the TR has stock rears and they work at least twice as hard meow. turn it up enough and you can get em to lockup even.... thats a pretty well sized caliper and rotor for the weight at that end of the car.

lines converted to F/R split system with all new copper nickel lines as opposed to OEM diagonal split. lines run up through floor to adjustable proportioning valve under front of drivers seat for on the fly adjustments.

HUGE improvement over the stock junk that will never give you enough pressure/stopping power without increasing piston surface area.

the question would be if the hat offset was the same or nearly so...then you could use the taurus calipers/brackets with the GM rotors

i wonder what the piston dia is....

I have these same brakes on my explorer sport. I will have to take a closer look and see how they compare to the gxp brakes.
