2008Grand prix fault codes p1125-p2120-p2138

About twice a year I get fault codes p1125-p2120-p2138 with loss of power.I know theses code point to accelerator pedal position sensor. After I clear the codes I clean the thottle body and the problem is gone for 6 months to a year. But always comes back.The reason for this post is it just happened again and cleaning the throttle body and air filter corrected the problem.But my repair dont seem to pertain to what the fault codes say.Thanks for any help.
 


when you "clean" the throttle body does that mean you removed it when you cleaned it?

if so I'm thinkin you might be having solder/pin problems on the tb. The app sensor circuits are monitored by the module on the tb.

Your fault would most likely be one of 3 things, tb module is dying, app sensor is dying, or your having problems with the wiring between the 2.
I know if you change the APP you will need to do a relearn on a higher end scanner (some ppl have not done the relearn with good results)
Not sure if the same applies to the tb
 
Thanks for your reply I do remove tb when I clean it to do a good job.Some times I dont have this problem for over 18 months or longer.But when it acts up cleaning the tb takes the problem away if I dont clean it the problem stays.
 
Hey dave i have the same codes on my 05 Gt and am thinking of changing the acc pedal position sensor since thats what the codes point to. but did u find that thats the actual problem?
 
Hey Casey I get these codes and they point to the position sensor but that is not the problem?.I find if I keep getting this codes if I clean the throttle body and change air filter if it needs changing this corrects the problem.I got these code last week on a real windy dusty day car was ok the next day did nothing to the car. I had these same code with my 04 grand prix so did my niece.Fixed her car with a throttle body clean and her car was good for 4 years/then she got the codes last month cleaned throttle body again all is good.Seems like I have to clean the thottle body on my 08 grand prix about once a year but before I do this I just change the air filter and this also works and sometimes and I dont have to clean the throttle body. Hope this helps you.
