2008 Grand Prix HID headlights flickering

put HID's in my car a while back and they do flicker if its not dark enough I figured its from the daytime running lights don't send enough voltage and they flicker and piss around, now when I originally hooked them up I used the harness to draw power from the battery and it still did the same thing except I could hear the relay kicking in and out, so I unhooked the harness and directly hooked them up. any ideas on how I can get rid of this problem I have to turn my lights on to eliminate this problem and I drive mostly with 1 headlight in the day time, and if I do straight driving from daylight till after dark I cant get the second light to come on and its really starting to piss me off.
 


nah its something in the system causing it, iv got a set I paid around $200 for and a cheap set from ebay on my high beams and they work flawless and I also tried switching the ballasts around with still same effect

Can't turn the DRL off? I know the 04+'s are different. If not try putting some electrical tape over the sensor so that it doesn't register and you can control them manually.
