2007 prix radio replacement

Hey all, I'm new here and have a quick question. I purchased a JVC KW-R800BT to put in the wifes prix. It does not have the monsoon system in it. Got everything I need with the exception of the plastic install kit. The directions arent really clear on whether you need one or not with a double din radio. According the the directions you just bend out the radio frame and it locks in.

Has anyone out there installed a JVC 2 din before and what where your experiences like?

I installed a JVC avx-640 in my 06 and yes I needed a dash kit, it gives you the ability to use the factory mounting screws to install the radio.
