2007 grand prix gt tranny problems!! Need some feedback! ASAP

I know that this has nothing to do with the transmission but i had just changed my power steering pump on my 07 grand prix gt and i was test driving it to make sure it was on right and it stopped the whining noise, which it did act right. 10 minutes after driving the car i came to a stop sign and got ready to pull off and the car revved up like it was in neutral but i was in drive. So the only way for me to drive the car now is to put it in 1st gear and shift up from there like its a stick shift. But even when i put it in 1st gear it acts like it doesnt want to catch first gear so i have to baby it and pull real slow for it to catch and sometimes when i hit 2nd it will act like its catching so i speed up and then it revs up again.. WHAT COULD THIS BE?? I HOPE I DONT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION?? Also there are no check engine lights or anything popping up on my dash, trans fluid doesnt smell burnt, and trans fluid still feels smooth.. This is the first time it has done this.. ANY SUGGESTIONS??
 


from others post ive read, it sounds like the forward band broke in the trans. time for i rebuild if thats the case.

im sure others will chime in with more solid info.
 
whens the last time you changed the tranny fluid?
if its already slipping ide flush it and put in fresh fluid and some lucis anti slip
 
i did in mine and it hasnt really slipped since

who knows could be something clogged in the valve body
