I have a 2006 Grand Prix GXP and I am need of some struts and really dont want to spend the money on the Bilisteins. I had read in other posts about the KYB struts however I am having troubles finding the ones specific for my year they all say not for the 18 inch wheels.

You know my bilsteins went out over the weekend...surprise surprise...I am not impressed with them at all, in my opinion they are way to stiff for my liking. I replaced them with Monroes and I love them! Especially with Lowering springs. Sooo much better.

Anyone else done any other upgrades to theirs? Like I said I just bought mine and this thing is pretty much bone stock except for the k & N cold air intake and I just had to have the damn transmission rebuilt

How many miles were on the bilsteins?

Not sure, I just bought the car. there is 105000 on the car, I wouldnt think they lasted that long but its possible.

If i could go back in time i wish i wouldve never bought koni retrofit's either. now they just sit in my garage collecting dust. maybe one day ill ship them off to get rebuilt and valved, but bilsteins are handling the daily driver pounding still after 100k

That's a lot of miles on them. I don't think you will get that much out of the monroes.

Maybe not. However, they ride great on my car and they only cost like 50 a piece. I can replace them 3 times by the time I pay for one rear strut Bilstein. When I first got the car I tried to order Bilsteins and Everywhere I went to said they were discontinued.

Bilestine doesn't make them any longer for our cars. And rock auto has no more of them. FYI
