2006 gxp power steering line blew

Does anyone know if there are problems with the lines at or around the pump? I was told the return line could blow if the outside temperature is colder than -25 Celsius.
A little history someone installed new lines but cut them instead of putting in, in one piece. The connected cut ends with rubber hose, which within a week of each other in the cold weather both blew apart. I have replaced both hoses with brass couplings and everything was good for a couple weeks until one morning it was -35 and started the car just to discover that a line near the back of the motor around the pump/rresivoir has blown on me. So here I am without a car again.
Anything would help.
Thanks
Ben

The cold weather issue was a recall. I have had mine replaced 2 times in the last few years..actually the last 2 times I got my trans replaced..lol..anyway not sure if its still an active tsb but call the dealer and ask them. The 2nd time they installed a upgraded hose that was a little.more reinforced iirc.

I'm trying to go after go for the power steering and trans cooler but I guess they won't do the cooler because it's considered a mod... they seem to dance around the problem that's for sure. I'll give them a call and let everyone know what comes out of it tomorrow. Thanks for the info

The thing I found why it blows is the fluid itself.. I had 4L jug unopened in my car overnight at -30 and come morning I opened my trunk to find it had expanded so much that 1/3 of the bottle was on the ground.. they mentioned something about changing the fluid to "cold climate" or something along those lines but will it be good for summer driving also?

My trans cooler lines went as well, they didnt cover it. I was already getting a new trans and power steering already so I didnt push the 100bucks it cost. Make sure to get the ignition recall done as well if you havent already while your there.

Apparently gm has a recall" they called it customer satisfaction program" for both lines I'm going to be getting a call this morning to see when it can be done.. my gxp has a blown line right now so they are going to have to come get it (tow) and I need a car for daily stuff.. looking forward to see if they will lend me a car until mine is fixed. I'll know everything later today..
power steering recall is N090132
