2006 Grand Prix Shifting

Well the 3800 II/III is very reliable when maintained but the transmissions kind of suck butt... Hard to say without more info or hearing/feeling it but if you want to do some good you could buy a shift kit. They're pretty cheap and easy to have installed and it'll be a worthwhile investment whether its having issues or not.

you want it feel like a caddy or a grand prix? firmer quicker shifts are better for the trans in the long run vs smooth shifts. unless its slamming into gear. to hard is not good either.

for my likes, i prefer to feel it shift, the faster and firmer, the better. a shift kit will make it shift firmer as well.
