2006 Grand prix low beams shut off randomly

I have always been a big GM guy and I must say that I have never experienced an issue like my wifes GP is doing ....we will be driving down the hwy at night and the low beams will just go off and I can kick the high beams on and drive with them until we can safely pull over and sometimes they come right back on in a minute or so or it may take 10 minutes for the low beams to come back on....Has anyone had this problem and if so is there a fix for this ...Thanks in advance for your answers

I did get a wiring diagram from a buddy of mine that works at a pontiac dealership ...he and I checked the grounds and we could not get the lowbeams to do it while we were working on it ....Isnt that the way it sometimes goes ... I have read about quite a few people having this problem when I googled this issue with the low beams but no one has ever said how they fixed it or if they fixed it... It almost seems to me that it is a heat issue , when something gets to hot ( maybe a relay ?) it will kill the low beams and when you turn on the high beams for several minutes and check back to see if the low beams are working ..they seem to come back on in 5-15 minutes ....
