2006 Grand Prix GXP Stereo Issue

Good Day fellow GP fans.
My deck has just decided to not accept or eject cd's anymore. I have the single disk Mp3 monsoon system. I have toyed with the idea of installing aftermarket but there seems to be a lot of hassel.

The info I am looking for is the 2006 did not come with an Navi system but the 2008 did. Would this deck work in my 2006 GXP???

Cheers

Uhm I have nav in my 05, and if it isn't ejecting Chances are the motor went bad. You can find the replacment on eBay and the. You won't have to hassle with getting it programmed. But since I'm not sure if you said of without ill just say you can put the nav in all the years I believe as long as you hook up vss wire, GPSand have the amplifier in the trunk.

Yes it is a GXP. I was looking online and cant seem to find the Stock navi anywhere. Do you have the model or part # of yours?

Cheers

none of them play mp3's... well the navigation radios do I believe... I've had a single disk, and now I have a 6 disk player...

my current Deck does play mp3 cd but it wont give me the disk back. Must have been hungry. i dont think the original owner fed it much.

Just had this same issue on mine last night. I have the Monsoon w/6 disc changer. I had mine replaced under an extended warranty about 6 months ago because a light was burned out on a few buttons. Last night, it refused to eject CD's or even play them. All it gave me was "PLAYER ERROR" in the display, but stereo worked just fine. Figuring I was going to have to replace it, and try to figure out how to get the 6 CDs out, I decided to take it out, unplug it from power and plug it back and VOILA!!! It suddenly worked just fine. Switches to the other CD's, will eject, load and play just fine now. I say try that...it can't hurt, and hopefully it is just as easy a fix for you as well!!!

Word of advice. I work at M&R Electronics. We service all factory radios.
Especially cd mechanisms. We have a radio repair form on our site and turn around time is usually same day it arrives. The singles and cd6 have issues, they aren't serviceable. We replace the entire mechanism with a brand new unit and guarantee it for a year.

Sorry if I'm not supposed to advertise in a way but I hate seeing people in need of answers. Getting a different radio would require an unlock/program to the vehicles vin so this is nice it's your original radio so no programming. you mail in the radio with the form and it comes back extremely quick.

I just wanna throw this out there. I have the 6 disc CD changer and it does indeed have MP3 and iPod in. I did have to add it but it didn't cost much. Less than 50

Did you add it after you bought the vehicle or something you ordered when you got the vehicle??? If it was after, was it something OEM or an aftermarket product??? I wouldn't mind having that option on mine as well...

It was something I added. There's a thread somewhere where I posted what the thing did. The model of it was AAI-GM12. I bought it from pac-audio.com

Dont even waste your money on those stupid aux modules. Jesus throw your money out the Window. A set of RCAs to 3.5 mm headphone is all you need. Tie into the output from the back of the radio to the input on xm several write ups on it and always someone trying to convince someone else to waste money on them. Obviously they work but let's see $50+ vs $5

Don't waste money...really. I did and its so much better than the taping in option. I can have an iPod and aux input for both and it works great
