2005 SE struts

Hey everyone. Recently picked up an 05 SE with 165k miles. The struts are indeed shot and I'm looking at strut/spring assemblies. I've seen some posts around the net mentioning using impala police/taxi struts springs. Does anyone have any experience using these? I don't want to necessarily stiffen the ride. I used to have an 04 CompG and don't want to go that direction in terms of ride stiffness/harshness.

I bought a full car set of Monroe Sensa Trac Police Quick struts on my 01 SE from an 01 Impala Police/Taxi and they are by far MUCH BETTER than the OEM Delcos and the KYB GR-2's that I have had on the car. The OEM Delcos/KYB's are way too soft for these cars and have zero weight capability with the GP's always sagging in the rear without any weight and especially with weight in the rear seats/trunk. These struts are what all GP's should have had from the factory. They are firm but not overly harsh or stiff and give a great ride with much better suspension control. They also allow 5 five people in the car with minimal sag in the rear. Are they Bilstein Struts? No, but the Bilsteins on my Chrysler 300 made the ride MUCH stiffer than the OEM sachs struts/shocks. I highly recommend them as a replacement strut/spring for any GP if you are not looking to stiffen the ride considerable...
