2005 Left Turn Blinker BCM?

Hey all,
My son's 05 Grand Prix blew its left turn light. We changed it, but the car still shows that the blinker isn't working (info panel says it is out and it blinks quickly in back, nothing in front). I read where a lot of people have this issue, and a general try-to-fix is a BCM reset. I disconnected the ground, hit the horn a few times, reconnected the battery, started the car. The left blinker indicator INSIDE blinked normally for about two cycles (no light exterior) then started rapid-flashing again. We repeated just to be sure. Same results.

So, my question: Where do I go from here? I tried searching the forum but came up empty. Is this a GM-only replacement? Is there a simple rewiring workaround? I can't him driving with the car thinking the stupid flasher doesn't work - the cops around here will nab him for busted signal.

Ideas/thoughts/suggestions? Thanks as always!

clean the socket, make sure its wires are not damaged to it, and inside the socket the two wire bars are in place. i had a socket fall apart on me.

try greasing the bulb connections with some of that de electrical grease too.

i also has to replace my drl module, but i drive a regal, so that maybe different in a gp.

check the front one and make sure it is not an LED, LEDs will make the blinker hyperflash( flash really fast), so I would install two new bulbs and go from there.
