2005 GXP traction/stability fault.. good abs scanner?

I have a 2005 v8 gxp 75,000 miles and it has the traction and stability lights on. I checked the hub bearings and sensors, I didn't see anything unplugged or broken but of course most of the time its the wiring so I have read. I know prob comes up a lot...

I also I have a 2000 3.8 supercharged 178,000 miles, Buick regal with a P0440 code.. I changed the gas cap with oem, but it didn't help.

So I was wondering if its a scanner abs , evap test...etc that could probably help me with both of these problems before I spend 200 or more on diagnostic tests from a shop. So I was thinking why not buy a scanner myself. I have a basic obd scanner for engine codes with ready monitors, but it cant read abs, srs or test for evap leaks etc. I don't think I repair enough cars to justify a very pricey scanner right now.

Any suggestions on good scanners? I came across a few links below....Thanks

Your gxp is more than likely a bad wheel bearing,..my 05 went through 2 sets of fronts and replaced under warranty in 100k

I've found a solution that will allow you to scan for ABS codes for about $25.... the method of acquiring it may be against forum rules to post, just PM me and I'll give you the details.
