2005 GT Block heater cord

Madness

New member
I am cleaning my new to me 05 GT today and doing some minor maintenance. I am trying to hold off starting my home furnace dreading another bitter winter in MN. If my car has a block heater, where could the cord be wrapped and tied, or which side of the block should I recheck to see the actual block heater?

the cord is not always installed but its a standardized part you should have no problem finding.

the block heater/freeze plug is located above the starter on the front bank. (that way you only remove a starter to install the BH at the dealer/etc)
yours is likely to be the thread in freeze plug, or a thread in block heater, the block heater will have two pins and a clip looking piece, the plug will just have a large hex relief for a giant allen key/hex.

the cord will get ziptied to the block/bellhousing ground cables, over towards the battery and the cord stays there, the cord for winter is usually laid over the top of the core support and hang out through the rubber moulding around the RF headlight.
ave also seen it run to the drivers side, my guess is the customer told the dealer where the plug is that they planned on using every night...
