2005 Grand Prix - warped body panels?

Hello,

Sorry I don't have pics readily available for this so I'll try to explain it as best I can...

I recently picked up a 2005 Grand Prix base model for my son. 89K, pretty clean for the most part, and runs well with some minor issues but I got it for a great price. One thing that I've noticed is that when, looking at it from a distance, the bottom edges of the rocker panels look wavy from the start of the rocker (behind the front wheel) all the way to the back (in front of the rear wheel). I went up and ran my hand under the car and the plastic panels themselves appear to be warped. It's actually the same on both sides of the car, and the rear bumper cover has some waves on the bottom as well. Purely cosmetic but it's just weird. I would think that if it was heat-related that it would have taken a LOT of heat to warp them in that manner.

Any ideas what may have caused that? Has anyone ever seen what I'm referring to before? Was this some defect?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Im going with the exhaust got pretty hot. Exhaust especially of you have a supercharher throws a bunch more heat out from the exhaust. Only thing I can think off.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts. Here's a picture; it's the same on both sides of the car. The wavy portions are the actual bottom of the plastic rocker panel trim and I can push them in with my hand. One thing I didn't mention...the guy I bought it from said he had it undercoated every year before winter. Would that have anything to do with it?

Like I said, nothing functionally wrong. It's just warped plastic. Just trying to figure out how that could even happen other than parking over something that was unbelievably hot.

To me it definately looks like something to do with heat. Thats warpage meng. Unless they used a heat gun or something for the undercoating. I dont think its that
