2005 Grand Prix factory alarm going off randomly. Bypass question

Just bought a 2005 Grand Prix and the factory alarm is going off randomly. I disconnected the battery for now to stop it. Looking for a bypass method. Car has no keyfobs that came with it.

I've read that Connector 2 pin 24 (purple wire) on the BCM is the factory alarm disarm wire for putting in a remote start. Normally this wire receives a ground pulse when the key is turned in the door to disarm the factory remote start.

My plan: ground the damn purple wire permanently and call it a day

Anyone try this before or see a reason why I should not do this? Thanks for any help.

edit: Connector 2 pin 24 purple wire a - ground pulse disables factory alarm (used to turn off factory alarm before remote start for aftermarket remote start)

Hoping just grounding this wire will never let the factory alarm arm.

Very odd Update: Grounded the above mentioned wire and got a reduced engine power light on the DIC. Removed constant ground and the light went away.

It is the right wire for disarming the factory alarm. if you pulse a ground to the wire it unlocks the doors or at least one of them I heard a door lock actuator cycle but didnt look to see which ones moved. Was also fixing a gas line leak at the plastic connection from the tank to the steel line. Thats fun. I hate gas lines!

So is this purple wire the one I need to unlock my doors? I have an aftermarket remote start keyless entry alarm system hooked up and got everything working properly. The locks lock when I hit lock and arm but when I hit this arm it just disarms the system and doesn't unlock the doors.
