I need help. My car has gone insane and I can't get it into a shop until Tuesday, but I'm trying to get an idea as to what is wrong. I was in a parking lot and went to start my car and it made a "pop" noise. After making that noise, it would only crank if I keep my foot on the gas. So, we put seafoam in the gas tank and gas and again, you must keep foot on the gas to crank, except it then randomly kicks up to 4,000-5,000 RPM and stays there. Next we cleaned out the throttle body...except that helped not at all. Still doing the same thing. The check engine light is on, but when scanned it says there aren't any codes. My next thought is the throttle position sensor? Except I'm unsure if I can just replace the sensor? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

the pop dont sound good. try another scanner, maybe the one you have kinda sucks? if the lights on, theres a code for sure.

and you mean it wont crank or wont run with out your foot on the gas? 04 are drive by wire, cant see holding it to the floor doing anything till the car is running. aka dead pedal wont open the tb blade. you dont have a throttle cable like older cars do.
