2004 Pontiac Grand Prix air quits blowing

I have a 2004 Pontiac GrandPrix with 3800 v6. It has roughly 176,000 miles on it. Sometimes the air just quits blowing. When it quits is just like no power to it. It want blow at any speed and it will come back on just like nothing was going on. It might work for a week and then do it again.
Any ideas on what it might be going on?

I would check the blower motor and the resistor with a volt meter before changing parts.

Also could be a loose wire or bad solder that is causing the issue.

the power wire runs through a connector behind the HVAC and radio.
That connectors pins are drastically under-sized for the current load and they tend to melt at the large red wire.
I bypassed mine with a straight crimp butt connector on the fat red wire

I kicked mine really hard and it started working again, after squealing alot...

I pulled it out, unconnected and reconnected it repeatedly, then used some penetrating oil on the exposed center shaft while it was upside-down on my counter.

Hasn't given me an issue since, but I'm expecting it to eventually stop working all together, and by then I'll have a new one ready to go in.

How long have you had the cowl deflector in your car? or do you have it installed?

If not, with 176k the blower has gotten wet a few times by now. Mine puked at 110k, sporadic, hit or miss, start then slowly decrease speed...then nothing..... then work again.
