2004 GTP crank sensor

Just a quick question
Im looking at a 2004 gtp that will not crank the current owner told me that it needs a new crank position sensor
He has replaced just about every other piece of the electrical system but has not replaced the sensor when it seems that this would fix the problem and make the car run again
Would this sensor prevent it from firing up
it turns over but just will not fore up
I want to know if i should proceed in getting the car

Well does it have spark at the coil packs or voltage to the ICM??
