2004 GT2-ABS comes on when not needed **help**

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. For the last month my ABS comes on when I don't need it to come on-no bad weather, no ice on the streets etc. The ABS/trac control and system engine lights come on probably every couple of days but when I turn the car off they go away. My husband changed the brake pad, brakes feel better but the ABS is still coming on when I try to stop. Could it be a mechanical sensor or something else??
 


It sounds like a bad speedsensor/wheel hub assembly but the first place to start would be to find someone with a code reader that is able to read abs codes to see what this tells you instead of trying parts one by one.
