Hey, this is Chris from Wisconsin. I need a new transmission and torque converter. I was wondering if one of the sponsors offers a full rebuilt with torque converter. I have two reputable shops nearby and they offer a warranteed rebuild with new converter, related hardware and install for $2,000. Just looking for input and thank you for your time.

Google "Triple Edge Performance".

The guy that runs it is awesome, you will not be let down. They offer a "Back to Basix" transmission thats perfect for a daily driver car. The prices can vary for different year cars, not sure if a torque converter is included.

It might be hard to beat the prices you said that the local shops have gave you though.

Triple edge won't be cheaper and they don't offer install in Wisconsin.

They do offer upgrade and high performance parts.

$2,000 isn't bad for a rebuild and install with a warranty.

Triple Edges transmissions aren't cheap, but they seem to be bulletproof.

Thank you guys very much for taking the time to respond. It is my wifes daily driver, unfortunately, not my hot rod....would like a GPX for that!!! Based on the info, we will be going to the local shop for the repair. Thanks Again.

I'd say $1474 is cheap for a TEP trans thats just a direct replacement, but then thats why I had to say that once you get it installed by a shop its going to cost more than $2,000.

I hear nothing but good things about TEP. The only downside may be the time it takes as my understanding is they are built to order. Sounds like you're in need of a tranny repair now.
