2004 Grand Prix GTP broken rear sway bar linkage

I have a 2004 Grand Prix GTP and randomly one night while getting gas the left linkage on the rear sway bar broke and the left side of the car dropped a bit, well my brother in law welded it back together and it only lasted about a week and broke again, then a couple weeks later the right linkage broke which made the car lower in the back, is this an absolute necessity to have because I've literally drove the car probably 2 months like this and I haven't really noticed a difference other than it DOES seem like it throws you around a bit when you turn the steering wheel if you're on the interstate like it kind of bounces side to side, is this the only issue this will cause? If there's a better way to fix it than welding it back where it broke I can do that just let me know, I haven't priced the linkages I actually don't even remember if they're made to the sway bar or not honestly it's been awhile now.

are you talking about the small link going between the sway bar and the strut? if so it's less than 15 bucks on RockAuto for new ones.

I'd suggest going over all the rest of the suspension as well, probably plenty of worn out bushings and links all over.

DORMAN 927110 comes with the sway bar, end links and bushings for $65 on RockAuto

Alright thanks everybody I've noticed the long travel it seems to have now the car is from Canada and it's rusted like crazy when we got it somehow a huge chunk was missing from one of the rusted out rotors, rust worries me lol
