2004 Grand Prix GTP ABS and Traction Control

Hey,
I'm new to the forum but I just bought a 2004 Grand Prix GTP on the weekend and I'm having some trouble with it. When I wanna hear that supercharger scream and I get on it the ABS and Traction Control lights come on. Does anyone know whats going on here? Is it a sensor or something? I figure it's not a huge deal, I just hate when my stuff doesn't work right and I'd like to know what all is involved in the repair. It's actually going to be the car for my girlfirend and our new baby girl so I want it to be safe.
Any information would be helpful guys, or even just point me in the direction of the information in the site. Like I said, I'm new here so it's goign to take me a while to learn how to navigate you know?

Take it easy,

Cheers!

Sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing, a bad wheel speed sensor or an EBCM failure. But if you’re the luckiest guy on the planet, check your brake fluid level it might be low.
I guarantee (or your money back :th_laugh-lol2:) it is one of the four, the only expensive fix is the EBCM. Good Luck and give us an update if you could.

If you're at a stand still, the Trac-light will come on when the tires spin. Might sound dumb, but I'm a guy who likes to start from the basic, stupid stuff before I start looking for a new wheel bearing or ECM.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm thinking it's that speed sensor you were talking about so I'll have to get a look at it hopefully this weekend. I'll make sure I keep you guys posted though, thanks for the help!

JR

Cheers!
